Pranav Varier
Son of Prajith Varier and Indu Varier
Pranav is a Symmes elementary third grader and a budding chess enthusiast who has been playing competitive chess for a little over 2 years. Pranav was introduced to chess when he was surprised with the chess board by one of our family friends. About two months later he was playing competitive over-the-board chess at scholastic levels. Currently, he is rated closer to 1100 in US chess federation national ratings and slowly climbing up the rating ladder.
Pranav’s current achievements:
Secured 22nd place National Grade level championship in 2022 winning 5 out of 7 games
Won 3rd place in Ohio Middle school reserve in Columbus, Ohio.
Won several scholastic chess tournaments in Cincinnati.
Mike Devassy
Son of Julian Devassy and Regina Devassy
Mike is currently a Freshman with a flair for writing. He was on the Mason Middle School Power of the Pen writing team for both years (7th & 8th grade).
Name of Award: Platinum Pen Award, Regional level
Competition: Power of the Pen (OH state writing contest)
Grade: 8th grade (May 2022)
Power of the Pen is a state-run competition to encourage young writers. Primarily in 7th & 8th grade. Winning the Platinum Pen assured his writing finding a place in the Power of the Pen published stories.
Mike loves political sciences, which gives him the ability to debate at the Model United Nations conferences. He’s been with the Mason Model UN team in various categories for the past 3 years. He participated in the following conference and won

Saritha Sugunan
Saritha has written two short stories in 'Loka Malayala Kadhakal' published by Mukham Books, Malappuram, a collection of 36 short stories written by 21 Malayalee writers living across the globe. The book was originally published at the Sharjah International Book Festival 2022. It was published in Kerala on November 26, 2022, by Mr. V. S. Sunil Kumar, Former Minister of Agriculture.
Kalavoor Ravikumar (Author, Script Writer & Director) presented Saritha with a Momento from Mukham Books and Mukham Magazine for her contributions to the publications.
Dr. Subbu Ramakrishnan
In 2022, Kairali member Dr. Subbu Ramakrishnan (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Dayton), along with two colleagues at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital, was awarded a highly competitive research grant by the US National Science Foundation (NSF). Subbu is the Lead Principal Investigator in this 3- year project carrying a total award of around $650,000. The NSF is the preeminent funding agency of the US government that supports fundamental scientific research. Gayatri Chandran
The Circle of Excellence award is highly coveted by realtors in the Cincinnati area. It's awarded annually to realtors who have demonstrated exceptional sales performance, as well as a commitment to ethical business practices and excellent customer service. It is an award given to the top 10% of agents in the Greater Cincinnati area.
To be considered for the award, a realtor must meet a set of rigorous criteria, including high sales volume and a strong reputation in the industry.
Matthew Varghese
The Cricket Ambassador has been with Cricket and it administration for years now and his recent accomplishments are
1)Travelled with the Masters USA team as team manager:
a) Masters Cricket USA hosted the Champions trophy in Houston with Canada and West Indies
b) Sunshine Coast, Australia, participating teams, India, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, England, Zimbabwe, Wales, Sri-Lanka
c) Barbados Big Man tournament, we won the championship, participating teams, India, UAE, Wales, Canada, England, and West Indies
d) Had the honor to receive the US Ambassador to Barbados, Linda S. Taglialatela
2) Our Cincinnati Cricket Club completed 20yrs, been with the club since its inception.
3) As a Cricketer and Cricket Administrator- Ambassador he had chances to meet some eminent cricketers like legend Joel Garner in Barbados and Mr.Gavaskar at the Heart-to-Heart Foundation in Cincinnati.
